Default Charlie Adlard at TCAF

Charlie Adlard was a drummer in a band before he became famous for his art in The Walking Dead comics. Anyone who paid $50 Canadian for his album also
received a very nice sketch. I don't own a turntable so I asked him to personalize a couple of albums to buddies at work. As expected, the albums sold out!

The sketches are in the signed edition hardcover. Lucky for me that I found the book on ebay.

I put down a stack of books on Sean Phillip's table. He had no problems doing the $30 sketches in each of the hardcovers. Even the 2 books with a couple of characters he just charged me $30.

Jeff Lemaire is considered to be one of the top comic book writers out there. He did a quick sketch in the third volume. The other two sketches were from last year's TCAF.

Jason Latour is one of the creators of Spider-Gwen. Mr. Latour wasn't planning on sketching at this 2 day event. He did ask me to come back at a later time when he wasn't busy signing for the fans. I did go back later, and he only asked me for half of what he usually charges for a sketch. There is a Spider-Gwen movie in the works!

There was the Toronto Reference Library which housed most of the comic creators, which is where Dave McKean was at, and the Masonic Building for the Image Comics creators. Dave McKean's Joker sketch. Batman sketch was from a signing session at the Silver Snail comic shop.

Amazon.ca don't usually sell signed editions. I did buy The Last Temptatin HC from them.

As you can see, Dave McKean's autograph was not included in the original edition. Now it is, including a nice little sketch of Alice Cooper. The book is now stored at the central part of one of my book cases.

I wanted a heavy hitter on the first page. Farel Dalrymple was doing quick little head sketches for people in line. He agreed to do something a bit better...$10 okay? I gave him $20. Farel did Silver Surfer his way!

I went back to my car for the Omega hardcover. Like a young child, I am enjoying the pictures in the Omega hardcover. Of course I'll read the book one of these days. This second $20 sketch in the hardcover is one of the tops in my collection. Farel Dalrymple is one of the top alternative comics creators today. It would be cool to see him drawing the Batman comics!

I went back on Sunday to add a Colleen Coover, and a second Charlie Adlard sketch to the Hero Initiative hardcover. I bought the $30 CD from CA to get the sketch. As you've guessed, the CD sold out!

This was a print shop error where extra blank pages were added to the Strange Tales 2 HC. Jeff Lemaire sketched Man-Thing and Jilian Tamaki added Dazzler to the book.

Seth's Palookaville hardcover on the right of the picture. I asked for a quick Mister X sketch in the other book.

Ty Templeton's Mister X sketch. This sketch was from Toronto Comic Con. TT drew on an area of the book where the dust jacket flap covers over the nice sketch. Too bad!

Emma Rios was not at the Masonic Temple Building on the first day. I thought she most likely didn't make it from Spain. Good thing that I brought the Spider-man book with me on the Sunday. Her sketch of Kraven on the left side of the book.

Dave McKean did a third signing, also at the basement because of the line up. Upon hearing that Dave McKean would be appearing at TCAF a few week's back, and spotting the hardcover at a used book store, I bought it at an instance. This, I know would make a very unique gift for a friend on a special day. Even a non comic person who receives the Dave McKean sketched book would discover how very rare a gift this is.
