Default Jack Vance 1916-2013

Beloved Science Fiction writer Jack Vance passed away last week at age 96 at his home in Oakland, Ca. He was a rare "triple crown" winner of Hugo, Nebula and Edgar Awards for his work and remains one of the most influential SF writers in history. I know I wouldn't be enjoying "Game of Thrones" as much without his obvious influence on George R. R. Martin and his influence on the SF and Fantasy genre is sure to be felt for many years to come.
R.I.P.

Jack Vance dies at 96; prolific, award-winning author - Los Angeles Times
