Default My First Commission - Moebius Hal Jordan Green Lantern Kit

As if I don't have enough to do, a colleague at work who is a huge comic book and Green Lantern fan saw the work I do on the Prehistoric Scenes models and talked me into doing a commission build of the Moebius Hal Jordan Green Lantern Kit. I really didn't think I had the time, but he's a good friend and I wanted to do it. So, it's taken me away from the P/S stuff for a bit and some other big projects lined up (hint - custom Bowen Bullseye bust conversion to Living Laser), it's been a total blast. I am finishing up the LED lighting on it right now and thought I'd post some progress and finish pics for the folks to see. Great kit. Loved doing it. Hope my friend thinks it was a worth it.

Delivering this to him soon and then heading back to the P/S work, custom work and I have to post updates for all the new stuff I got in the Retreat!

It really is an awesome kit. Best one by Moebius by far, IMO.
I put one together a while back and it looks just great in my GL case.

Great buildup sir, I really like the greens you used on his costume. I've collected all of Moebius' Universal Monster kits (still hoping for a Chaney Jr Wolf Man!) But this is the one superhero kit that I wanted from them, it really is an outstanding piece, and you've done it great justice.

I was surprised by this kit. It really is well done. I'm actually considering doing a second one for myself.

Thanks! The client wanted it with a touch of metallic so I had to use both acrylic and enamel paints in a layering and dry brush approach. He is please with the colors too and said I got it spot on.

It really is a great kit. I cut out the eyes and chest pieces on the robot and have it backlit. Looks pretty good but I'm still considering changing the color filters before delivery.

Default Final Update - Client Delivery

Finally back from a bunch of crazy work weeks and getting caught up again! Made delivery to my client before I left. He was very happy with the result. Here are some pre-delivery shots. Got the lighting just right. Notice the robot is lit up too. Even the underside is fixed so you cannot see the wiring.

He sent me pictures of it in his GL display. I think he's happy!
