Ashram, here in PA there aren't any real natural weather related disasters that would hurt the collection. For the man mad (namely, my kids) I lock the door, but also use museum putty as an extra stabilizer on the bottom of mainly busts and statues with smaller bases. The museum putty (scotch brand for me) doesn't mess with the graphics and writing bottom of the bases, so it's a good help for peace of mind.

Thanks. I figured you'd be spared the wrath of nature. Personally, I'd be concerned with the putty (and greasy residue...over time), but I'd probably do the same thing (if I had 'em surrounded by glass and up high). I'm kinda anal about not wanting anything to detract from how I receive something. So, for me, I just have mah stuff kept in their original boxes. Anything that I have outside a box does battle with the ghost of me (or what y'all others probably refer to as dust bunnies), so I wanna keep the nice stuff as protected as possible (plus space is always an issue). I was in a earthened tremble (earthquake here on the west coast) and I wouldn't want the good stuff to go (hulk smash). Well, night.

Great stuff! This thread doesn't fit the parameters of the new guidelines, but seeing as it's framed art, displayed in your house, we're going to leave it as is.

When I get some time I'll re-structure threads to meet the new guidelines.
