This was perfect timing Al. I'm reading Uncanny X-Men Omnibus Vol 2 and I'm right at the part where Kitty joins the team and it leads perfectly into this. Based on your previous posts I've been looking at picking up all of the ROM issues and this is one that I was really interested in. I can't wait to read the next one.

Thanks!

That's my intention to this section: bringing the magic of the Marvel era I loved to anyone who missed it!

Cool! Glad I found this thread.

I just picked up the entire run of Rom on eBay including the 4 annuals. Set me back $220 with shipping. Just arrived today as a matter of fact! Comes out to $2.78 per book which by today's prices was not bad.

I had most of them years ago but traded them back to my comic shop for store credit.

What triggered this nostalgia is when the wife of a high school buddy of mine, whom I have not seen in years, invited me to a 50th surprise birthday party. He was a Rom Spaceknight fanboy and it got me to thinking of finding a unique gift for him. He already had all the comics so I tooled around on eBay and found the complete set in VF+/NM- condition by happenstance and could not pass it up.

The ONLY other ROM stuff I could find was a $400 and $500 Toy Robot by Parker Brothers.

Any other Rom items out there?

Instead I may end up gifting him Bowen - Spider-Man Action Modern (John Cleary) Dec2005 FSstatue#56 edition size#838 of 1750 Phase II which has not moved on the Bay even though it is reasonably priced.

Yikes!
Well, if I want to rationalize, it is a NM set.

What is the chance of finding a complete run in quarter boxes AND in decent condition. I way too anal about condition. sigh

I didn't start reading ROM till issue 72. It was a Secret Wars II crossover. But after that I was hooked, and tried to get as many back issues to caught up.

A near impossible task when you lived in Wyoming which did not have a comic book store.

It won't be until I moved to Phoenix in 1989 that I was able to really star reading ROM.

After seeing this post it might be time to dust off some of the old back issues and crack them open.

I wish I could find them in a quarter box. The few I've found are in pretty bad shape and the later issues. I did find a few of the earlier issues but they wanted a couple dollars apiece for them. Continuing to search...
