Default PICS: Kotobukiya Wolverine (brown costume) Statue by Hellsbells51

As in-hand pics started showing up from comic cons and recently from our folks overseas, there have been many worried about the paint apps and overall QC on this Kotobukiya Wolverine statue. I must have been a bit lucky as the paint wasn't sloppy. Though mine didn't come with a few gripes. While my paints apps were applied pretty good, the paint color was really basic...almost like they colored it with crayola crayons. Mine also had what appears to be a small chip of paint on his back shoulder. Overall, it's a good statue, but it definitely needs some special attention in the paint department. I'll elaborate more in each of the pics...enjoy!

Mugg shot...lines came out pretty good on mine! Great face sculpt by Erick Sosa!

Aerial view of back side:

This is where I think a lot of attention could have been used. Not much shading for the muscle tone, there are no defining lines between the brown and yellow areas, basic color tones (especially yellow).

As much as I love Erick Sosa's traditional sculpted statues...sometimes the muscle tone and definition is too much (especially on his body...chest, abs, neck, shoulders, etc.). You can see a bit of that in this pic.

My unmasked head actually came out pretty clean as well. Paint apps were surprisingly good! I like it more than I thought.

Awesome! I saw pics on the other forum and a couple had paint issues but yours looks great. Going to check my local comic stores to see in person before I buy, it looks great.

Thanks everyone! In person the paint looks more chalky like Cyclops.

On another note, our very own SM member MaxGoof has an article about this Wolverine statue on his website MarvelToyNews.com and used my photos! I was honored to let him use my pics...check out out:

Great pics, HB! I love your team display. Hopefully, Koto gets their paints in order for Rogue.
