Best all around statue goes to Maestro.

However while he is the Hulk, he is more like a villian and not Hulk.

As just classic Hulk goes then I say the best looking is the Retro Green. Great face sculpt and very natural looking body sculpt.

Best idea goes to Smackdown Hulk. However I feel this statue looks a little dated in it's sculpting. I think Bowen designs has come along way since this sculpt and would love to see an updated sculpt of this pose. I also don't like the color green that was used at all. But it's a great pose.

I voted for the classic green aka "smackdown" Hulk. Just seems like a great Hulk representation to me showing Hulk doing what he does best.....SMASHING!

Gotta go smackdown for this one...but I think the new, larger sculpt is going to dethrone the smackdown version, when it comes out!

Variant, and it's not even close. Smackdown just looks silly to me.

I think it's strictly between Smackdown and Variant. Slightest edge to the Variant.

My 2 cents.

Smackdown and planet hulk still by far the best two and are both in my top five bowen statues

Hulk is and always has been my favorite comic book character, not to mention a top favorite fictional character in general. That being said...

My favorite era of stories is the cliched yet supremely awesome Peter David run. Cliched in the way that everybody who's actually read Hulk always raves about that legendary run.

I always felt the statue that truly captured Hulk's character was the Smackdown Green Hulk statue. Of all of the Bowen Hulks to choose from that one IS IT! For me it is. I also own the retro gray hulk statue, which to me is the second best Hulk FS by Bowen.

I am not keen on Rulk, She-Rulk, A-Bomb, Skaar, or Hiro Kala... or even Jen Walters for that matter. I agree something new needed to happen with Betty, Thunderbolt Ross, and maybe Rick Jones... but not that. And especially not by forcing them down our throats (the typical Marvel manner).

Planet Hulk was cool but derivative of classic Bill Mantlo stories (which I believe was Greg Pak's inspiration). While I read it I constantly felt like I had read it all before, including the subsequent event World War Hulk. Still good stuff but nothing new as far as the Hulk is concerned. I do think Greg Pak's run was the last good Hulk storytelling we've had, especially when he was partnered with Paul Pelletier (perhaps my favorite new hulk artist, very evocative of my personal two favorite Hulk artists Dale Keown and Gary Frank).

I do like the recent Savage Hulk and Variant statues (although I passed on both). I think they are fantastic! I may change my mind about getting one of them. But Smackdown is just so good! It fits perfectly with the Abomination FS (my personal favorite Hulk villain), The Rhino FS, and Wendigo FS.

I feel the Gray Hulk mini statue is actually the best Keown art representation. If the mini statue was produced Full Size it would be my absolute favorite Hulk statue of them all!

Very well said Ninja Mitche - and I love the pics. I see you have a Hulk #4 - is that the earliest issue you have?

I'd like to see the classic green Hulk posed next to Savage Hulk Variant. I have the variant, but would like to see how it matches up in size/mass with the classic version.

Savage variant is my favorite mainly due to the face sculpt. The digital sculpt of the body makes him seem a little too "modern" for me at times. I like the look of Sal Buscema's Hulk from the 70's and 80's. He looked more like a giant green ape, than a bodybuilder.

Ratchet! So sorry I haven't gotten back to you! I know it's been 2 years, but in answer to your question, Yes. Hulk #4 is the earliest appearance of the Hulk that I own and the crown jewel in my comic book collection. Again, sorry about the ridiculous 2 year delay in answering In terms of simply earliest comic books I do own a Ghost Rider #14 from 1954 and two issues of Sub-Mariner from 1954 and 1955.

I feel like I owe you a cup of coffee or something as recompense.

Thanks for the kudos on my pictures. Do you have any amazing Marvel gems in your comic collection?

Love the classic grey, imo, nearest to the King's original Hulk

The best is the mini statue. Unfortunately it is half the size.
