Default Help with Cap statues please

Hi, I'm looking to finally grab a Cap statue for my collection but really confused, not helped by sellers using different terms. Just how many different Caps did Randy produce? Not counting the Ultimates version, faux bronzes or busts it seems there is:

40s version (dark rectangular base) - old shield
40s ltd ed (light rectangular base) - old shield

Modern version (light rectangular base) - round shield

Classic version WWII (curvaceous silver-starred cylinder base) - matt paint
Classic version (silver-starred cylinder base) - matt paint

Museum version (on eagle base) - matt paint

Avengers version (Avengers base) - metallic paint

Metallic version (curvaceous gold-starred cylinder base) - metallic paint

Is there a definitive comparison of all these versions? Many thanks for any help and clarification! Cheers.

Hi, I was going to point to some pictures to help clear it up but so many people's pictures are held up by Photobucket.

I'll try and list out all that I know, but it looks like you've got all of them.

Modern Version, round shield, rectangular cream/ivory base
WWII Version, triangle shield, rectangular cream/ivory base (there is also the same thing but with a black base, ltd ed Georgia Music)

Classic Version, round shield, round eagle base includes riser with stars on the side
WWII Version, triangle shield, round eagle base includes riser with stars on the side

Avengers Version, round shield, Avengers base

Metallic version, round shield on back, round eagle base includes riser with stars on the side

I think that's just about what you have listed.

I thought at one time there was a thread comparing them but I couldn't find it. I own the Modern Version with the ivory rectangular base but I also love the Metallic version.

As you said, there is also the Ultimate Cap statue, Newsreel Cap, and Action Cap.

Although not Steve Rogers, there is the Bucky as Cap statue as well.

http://www.collectionstash.com/colle...-modern-statue

this is a link to the one that I own. For a little while I was thinking about selling this and getting a metallic version but I do think this is such a great representation of Cap. Also, this statue usually goes pretty cheap on Ebay (as opposed to other Cap statues which had much lower production runs).

Hoping for a Phase 6 with FS Statues of the following

  • Moondragon
  • Mantis
  • Wonder Man (in the Perez Designed costume)
  • Havok (need a new one in his classic costume because the existing one is too expensive on Ebay)
  • The Red Guardian (The Defenders member-this one is a longshot)
  • and a REALLY GOOD Phoenix Museum pose

Thanks for the replies guys. I got confused because I saw two similar Cap's with near identical bases - the black cylinder type but one was sort of curved edges whereas the other was a hard cylinder. A definitive picture thread would be useful but as you say so many pics have gone :-(
Cheers, Vidar

I was confused when I started collecting. Luckily, we had BD website to view the pictures then, not anymore.

Why don't you point us to a photo and tell us which Captain America you are looking for? There are plenty of BD experts here to tell them apart.

Here's a full list of the release year and edition size for each BD Captain America statue. If unsure when buying, ask for their edition size pasted at the bottom of the box or statue base. They should be significant enough to tell the difference., unless it's AP without ES printed.

STATUE
Description Edition Size Release Year
Captain America 1940's statue 2000 1999
Captain America Modern statue 4000 1999
Captain America Bronze 100 1999
Captain America Gold statue (Georgia Music) 600 2001

Captain America Classic statue 2500 2007
Captain America WWII statue (Website Exclusive) 800 2007
Captain America Metallic statue (Website Exclusive) 1165 2009
Bucky as Modern Captain America statue 800 2009

Captain America Ultimate statue Website 500 2010
Captain America Newsreel statue Website 300 2010
Captain America Variant Ultimate statue (Website Exclusive) 1380 2011
Captain America Action statue 1500 2012
Captain America Avengers statue (Website Exclusive) 1012 2012

Are you talking about the Avengers 2012 (left) versus the Classic 2007 (right)?
