Default Viintage 1966 Cartrivision Incredible Hulk

I was doing some digging around my storage boxes and came across this great gem that I decided to share.

Before the fight between Sony's Betamax and the industry standard VCR, there was Cartrivision.

I found this info about Cartrivision on the web: Cartrivision was a consumer video recorder developed in the Silicon Valley of California in the late 1960s and brought to market in 1972 where it eventually failed for a number of reasons. Cost, technical problems and consumer ignorance / inertia being just a few

It's rarity is up there, from what I understand, as most of these tapes are fairly delicate and easily fell apart. Not to mention - since it was a failed technology, much of these were just thrown away.

This is a 1966 Cartivision Incredible Hulk tape. In the original box, and from the looks of it, was never used.

I have to say that I don't think I've ever heard of Cartivision.

There isn't a big pile of these buried in a landfill somewhere is there? *cough* ET *cough*

I know, right...?

I remember when we got ET for our Atari 2600 as a kid. Even back then I thought, "WTF is this game about...?"
