Smashdaddy - First off - purely amazing display/collection. I really dig all the vintage stuff, and I love how you've framed/organized everything. It truly does look perfect and great overall.

I also didn't see these in any of your pics, but thought I mentioned them because I think they would make a great addition to your collection. And, I think would really display well framed as most of (if not all) of your collection is framed. What do you think about these bad boys:

Apologies if they were in your collection pics and I missed them, but I loved Presto Magix when I was a kid (mine were the Star Wars ones). Anyway, thought it might be a neat "next" thing to try track down.

If you ever see the poster that actually says "Mighty Marvel Comicon 1975", (and verfiy it's authentic and not a reprint) - SNAG IT...! Or let me know if you ever see it!!

I always love looking at this poster!! Haven't had time to search for it! But, would love to have it one of these day!!

Hey Smashdaddy,

Are these things you've had since you were a kid of have you been searching for it? just wondering were you are finding all this cool stuff.

I love the way you've displayed things, this is want I want to see when someone posts their collection, not 10 photos of each statue we've seen a 1000 times but how you display things.

Some items are things I've had since I was a kid, 98% are things I've spent years tracking down and storing until recently.

I thanks all of the great folks on SM for the reason I finally got these items up. I have so much more but running into little wall space now to fit much more.

Plus, I've been picking up statues and busts again so I'm trying to settle on a display cabinet to get them out of hibernation and into the spotlight.

Thanks for your kind comments...!

Had this inexpensive custom frame made since I couldn't find one at the stores. Measure 20.5 wide and 20 3/4 tall...I really didn't want to take this and get the poster mounted to some back board. In my opinion, it would ruin the peice for me.

So I opted to take this route. One comforable detail is that the glass upfront is actually acrylic.

While the poster doesn't lay "flat" - overall, it's acheived the look I was hoping it would have in a frame.
I snagged this off eBay awhile ago for around $50.

There's apparently a litho version floating around on ebay. I've been debating whether to buy that or try and hunt down what you have.

The third eye posters are really awesome. The Iron Man print you have is outstanding.

Got another one for you Smashdaddy.... I noticed your very nice minty fresh Mego dolls. In 1979, Mego released a line called "Pocket Superheroes". Anyway, thought I throw out a pic or two to see if you have them or might want to get them or knew about them:

A few variations on packaging, and I think there were only four Marvel characteers: Hulk, Spidey, Cap, & Green Goblin. I had them as a kid along with the DC characters, and at the time, they were awesome.

BTW - If you ever decide to part with the Romita Signed and Framed Dr. Strange calendar, I'd be interested in it.

This is one of those 1970's toy lines that not only resonate with me fully, but also remind me of my Mom. When I embraced my inner-comic fanboy, she so kindly and generously helped me collect the heroes I wanted.

I did have a few of these, and just months ago sold off a few - but I'm keeping the ones you saw. BUT, I never did see the "pocket jeans" version - ever!

It's tough to display these the way they deserve...if I ever get more room I might pursue the Hulks again....

I hear the Green Goblin Mego 8inch is one of the Rarest and Most expensive ones out there today.

Anyone got one?

Marvel Comics FOOM Magazine # 19 1977

It's been a while, and I FINALLY decided to post another addition to the wall.

I was debating between this and a 1975 Marvel Comics Convention Booklet and decided to go with this. However, I think I may pick up a 2nd one to display the back cover as well, since this is really a GREAT wraparound.

Not the best pic...

Great collection Smash! Thanks for sharing. Looking at some of the stuff you have, I remember getting as a kid. Too bad, between moving, moving out of the folks house, etc, a lot of stuff was thrown out. Guess that is what makes the stuff that still remains that much more interesting and precious.

Thanks HH...I wish I had kept so much more of the things I had as a kid...but at the same time, it's been fun hunting for them over time...which has led me to items I never knew existed...

Soooo...I know this isn't Vintage, but I haven't unboxed enough to personally qualify my own Bowen Designs Collection thread, so I thought I'd start here.

I told myself that I would unbox at least 5 or 6 Bowens this month and get them displayed no matter what. Well, I unboxed Hulk and Strong Guy today.

Tomorrow, The Thing FS, then Jack of Hearts MB and then I'm deciding between Classic Power Man FS and Green Iron First FS OR Classic Captain America FS and the Falcon...

We'll see...but I'm very happy that this is finally happening...

Great to hear things are in motion! It's still going to be months....maybe this summer...before my new room is revealed. Speaking of which, I have a couple of things I've been meaning to show you once I get around to taking pics.

Keep the updates coming, brother!
