Default First post, and some work (large images ahead)

Hi everyone. This is my first time here, and I'm completely blown away by the talent on the digital art here.

I wanted to throw my work in these forums, and see what people think. So here's some pieces I've done. Please feel free to give critique, or just comment. I'd like to know what you think. Thanks.

Psylocke bust. Wanted to keep it clean, and more inline with a Bowen Designs feel.

Wolverine bust. Again, lower frequency details, more Bowen Designs-y.

Full body Carnage.

And Brass Demur, from Battle Chasers, full body. Wanted to keep that distinct Joe Mad feel from the comic.

And a shot with a quick polypaint.

Thanks for looking, and I hope to become a regular here.

Very cool work. Love the Carnage!

Step 1. See
Step 2. Covet
Step 3. Purchase
Step 4. Sell something so you can repeat steps 1-3

Thank you very much.

MisterH: I'd love to print something out, but I can't afford it right now. I'm really hoping to get commisioned, or contracted to do some statue work. I'd love to make this my living. It's so much fun to do!! Right now, I'm stuck making video games to pay the bills, but I really want to branch out in to this kind of work.

PeepsChicken: Thanks so much for the comment. I learned a lot on this Carnage piece, and will be applying it to my next bust, Batman.

Impressive! It always amazes me to see how people's individual style shows up on the same characters.

I think the Psylocke is my favorite. My only observation was that her face doesn't look Asian. I can't tell you exactly what that means and maybe it's just because there is no color, or maybe it's just me.

I really like how you've captured Mad's style, too.

Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks again, everyone for the comments. They're truly appreciated.

Psylocke seems to be the favorite here, which I find fantastic. I'm working on another piece right now, a Batman Bust, and will post when I'm done. Blindzider, it's not your imagination, she doesn't look very Asian. I didn't try for a heavy Asian look, but I suppose I should have. I instead, went with just a pretty female face. I'll be more aware of the characters race from here on out though. Thanks for pointing that out.

JeremeyS, in the end, it's your sculpt and you do whatever you want. Keep up the fantastic work. Can't wait to see more.

Wow! I like your stuff! I like the Psylocke face, a lot, even though MHO. Some critique? Wolvie's hairline looks a bit too high. Like the Batman, a lot, not too bulky, imho. Carnage looks great.
Nice submissions.

The Psylocke is probably my favorite piece. One thing I would tweak is the end of the scabbard. It seems too boxish. Granted there are probably many scabbards with a square end, but I think rounder would help aesthetically. And maybe lengthen the scabbard juuuuust a little more. You're not the first nor will be the last to breeze past her ethnicity, so don't beat yourself up. It is a rather confusing backstory that!

The Wolverine bust projects a taller presence with his proportions, while in the comics he's got a stocky muscular physique. If you shortened his neck, then the proportions would match the Wolverine from my childhood. Although your bust could work for a movie-inspired piece. The movies never acknowledge Logan being closer to 5'3".

Love your Batman. Can't think of anything to critique. I like the proportions. Feels a little like Jim Aparo's art.
