Default BOOK: Bowen Designs Statues & Mini Busts History by kurgan

This is the cover of the photo-book I wrote on my own Marvel Bowen statues

The book is dedicated to my family, Stan Lee and Randy Bowen; it counts 512 pages, more than 1000 photos (in high resolution) and a lot of graphics! The text is written in Italian (unfortunately!) and deals with 75 statues from Bowen design. Here is a web version of the book "index" (the last 4 pages), just to have an idea of its structure and the items you can found there....

Sure!

This is the "overture" of the book with the inner cover, some information on the author (!) and the dedication...

...followed by a short Introduction:

Then the first section (chapter) of Part I starts. Each statue is introduced by a sort of "graphic cover" and treated by
a brief description and my own comments, plus a lot of HR photos. The layout is not the same for all statues in order to capture the reader's attention and
to make the reading more interesting. In the following you can see a part of the first section, devoted to Captain America:

Here you can see the pages introducing Thor, the God of Thunder...

...the one introducing the section devoted to Hulk...

...and the "cover page" of the Hulk Retro Green:

The section for Silver Surfer:

In my opinion the most attractive pages (besides to the HR photos describing each statue) concern the inner cover for each character!
This is the one for my Ant-Man DeLuxe statue:

...Deadpool Action...

...Hercules!

There are also two sections dedicated to the most important Marvel "teams": the Avengers and the X-Men! Here you can the pages introducing the
"Mutant World":

...the Logan statue...

and the ones for two very rare Bowen statues: the Iceman Clear and the Cable Retro:

The second part of the book is dedicated to my favourite items: the Faux Bronze statues! Here the structure and the layout are slightly different...
After the introduction...

the statues are briefly described...

...and besides to the usual images at full-size (like this one):

you can see some "groups"...

and also some "poster-page" I've realized for each character in faux bronze! These are the poster for Thor...

and Thanos:

Well! What do you think about it ??!

I forgot the LAST section, explicitly devoted to the talent of Randy and two "old" classics: the Batman on gargoyle and the Superman Seinfeld statues!
This is the introduction....

...an this one of the photos!

Thank you very much for your appreciation!

Actually this is my second book, since I already wrote a volume on my Marvel Sideshow statues. The Sideshow book was printed in about 30 copies
and due to the very high quality of the paper, the hard cover and the handmade rebinding the final result was amazing... The format of the volume is
not common (30x30cm!), so that each page showing a full-size photo is wonderful and looks like a "poster"! Unfortunately, the cost for printing is very
high and notably increases by reducing the number of copies! Of course, the text, the photos, the layout, everything is mine (written in LaTeX, a powerful
software I use for my work), but I do not have the copyrights of the statues' images and, for this reason, it is not (and cannot be) a commercial product.
I realized it just for a personal use and I admit it was a very great satisfaction for me!

Furthermore, the SS book was "only" 232 pages and was already a HUGE volume. This one for Bowen is 512 pages and includes a lot of graphical decorations and special effects I didn't use
for Sideshow. I do not know how much the possible printing will cost, but no doubt some copies will be printed...
This is the cover:

and here you can see some sketch of first, raw proof:

...and the final result!

I shared the whole Sideshow book on the Forum of Italian collectors, so you can have a look to the different sections by opening the topics here:

Excellent!!! Does the Bowen book include all Marvel statues ever produced by Bowen? Too bad it's not available to the public; I would jump on it in a heart beat.

Beautiful work my friend,

SL
