Hmmm. No, I never even thought of that. Everything has to be run by the wife...

Thanks, it'll certainly look better than what it was before. I'm definitely going to take a break from "big" projects after this.

Happy to share a new update: the front room has now been painted! There's still some touchup to do but the paint is basically done and you can get an idea of the color. The color is what I chose but the finish is a little shinier than I would like, so the main room will be less glossy.

Obviously I need to put the floor in, then do baseboards, trim around the windows and eventually barn doors in front of the opening.

Nice neutral green. Sinister Six will look great in there.

I do like that green color

Hoping for a Phase 6 with FS Statues of the following

Nighthawk
Moondragon
Mantis
Polaris and Havok (new ones need to be made because the Bowen ones are too expensive now)
The Red Guardian (The Defenders member-this one is a longshot)
and a REALLY GOOD Phoenix Museum Pose statue

Thanks everyone! The color scheme is something I've liked for awhile. It may not be the best to display comic art and colors but we'll see.

Went looking for flooring today and may have found something. I'm going to take about a week off from working on the room so my arm and back can recover and may paint the back room before I tackle the floor...

That green looks nice! White frames would look better than black, I think. But even black wouldn't be that bad.

I may have misspoke, if I'm reading your post right. I was just concerned with the bright multi-colors of comic characters, the green background may not be the best, but I don't own any original comic art though. Most of my prints and stuff have a black frame and as you said white would look better, which actually is the plan for all of the trim around the room and the display cases.

I think the artwork in the black frames will look fine.
Now my question is does the artwork have mat boards around it?

White trim and display cases is the way to go. I don't think you'll have any problems with colors IMO. That green is so muted that it will display well with more intense colors.

All of the professional framed art is matted, with varying colors depending on the piece. I have a few prints just put into a frame which may come down off the wall depending on wall space.

Agreed on the white. All new bookcases (similar to yours) will be white.

Ahh, I see what you mean. I quite like dark walls with bright art, gives quite a nice contract IMO. Black or White, frames break it up just enough I think.

Thanks BMW! I think once the floor is done in the front room and everything moved out of the back room, things will move pretty quickly.

Tuesday the floor was put into the front room and I'm very pleased with it. I also painted the stairway down to the basement, although the steps themselves need to be stained.

In the next few weeks I'll be putting in the baseboards after which I'll show pictures of how it looks before I move everything in there from the back room.
