Default What did Sideshow get right?

We've seen Sideshow take artistic liberties with iconic characters. Which ones do you fellas think worked the best?

I will say the recent Captain Marvel PF. Well sculpted, painted and the pose is almost perfect. Different costume design, but it works as well.

Power Girl
Wonder Woman
Spiderman
Dark Phoenix
Captain Marvel
Carnage
Gamora

They put out a good amount of very good statues. I just prefer 1/6th scale. I buy the Premium Formats that I "REALLY" like. The next one I will probably get it the newer Wolverine they previewed at SDCC.

or are you just talking about the one they put there on spin on?

IMO, they put their own spin on most of what they produce. Bats, Supes and WW PFs are sort of the exception. Even the recent GL had a few tweaks here and there. That's the thing with SS for me, they can do something like Captain Marvel and hit a home run but their Deathstroke looks like it was phoned in. They do have more quality items now than they used to though.

Funny - I've been notice the "taking liberties" angle when I saw the Rocket Raccoon and Groot statues. Not sure why they do this, but I guess if it sells, it sells.

Although, Zatanna is mighty fine...!

Of the ones I've seen that sideshow has taken pretty drastic liberties...I'd have to say the Thanos MAQ. That's a costume that's never been seen before and it works. I'm sure it helps that he's seated. That's the only one that comes to mind. IMO, the ones that look bad because too many liberties were taken are Deathstroke and Magneto. Those 2 PFs are total failures in my book. Deathstroke should have been in his classic Perez costume and Mags needed to be in his classic Byrne or Lee styled costume. Sometimes SSC gets too cute for their own good. Stick to the classics. They never go out of style.
