Default Non-Marvel Bowen Designs Statues and Kits

I believe RB also did a Dark Horse Legend icon piece some years ago.
I believe this piece was quite limited too.

He did a number of pieces for Dimensional designs as well.
I used to see the werewolf piece float around for a while.

Another early Bowen favorite that doesn't pop up too often: The Shadow bust.
I believe the one on the left is a custom paint of the original release (pic on the right).

I bought my first Bowen piece back in 1995 while living in London.
It was the Spiderman x-mas porcelain ornament.
I believe Randy sculpted the head (only).

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe RB designed this super rare 6" 1995 Gambit pewter piece based on the Creative Designs Gambit piece. I believe the Gambit piece was a collaboration sculpture he did with Clay Moore.

About 20 years ago (??), RB sculpted this really rare Alien head pin.
However, I don't know who this was made for, why, and how many (yes, I am zero help!).
I don't believe it surfaces very often.
As you can see, it was autographed way back in '91 when RB was still only in his 40s.

RB also sculpted this "Defender of liberty" award in 1999 for the CBLDF (comic book legal defense fund).

I believe it was for Brian Pulido, president and publisher of Chaos! Comics. He was honored with the 1999 Defender of Liberty Award. This annual CBLDF award recognizes outstanding efforts to promote and protect free speech in the comics community (I think).

Some toyfare sites have credited RB with this HTF Terminator piece, though I can't be 100% sure.

The site:

I believe this RB rarity is called "It! Terror Beyond Space" resin kit. It came out in the early 90s, was limited to 200 pieces. This 1/6 scale alien stands about 12" with a 9"X9" spacecraft cargo floor base, surrounded by cargo boxes and a bent rifle, also included is a logo nameplate.

P.S. Cool article on kits here.
Some of our favorite sculptors are interviewed.

Resin the Barbarian - Archives for: January 2007

P.P.S. If you're really into kits, you'd like the book "SON OF THE GARAGE KIT THAT ATE MY WALLEY" by Terry Webb. RB and other sculptors are featured.

Other Bowen rarities: Alien I Warrior Statue.
I believe this was a piece for Dark Horse (???).

Pumpkinhead Model Hobby Kit from Geometric Designs. It was sculpted by RB and stands about 12 inches tall, though I don't know when it was made.

Weird Science Turd Monster Model Hobby Kit by RB. I believe it's a Dimensional Designs release.
This has to be rare (and old!). I have no background to offer on this one.... though I'm sure we can all speculate!

1)I think there were 500 of the Legend heads
2) I don't recall how many Doc Savage piece were produced
3) The werewolf was a kit done for Dimensional Designs. Still in production as far as I know.
4) Shadow: Again- Can't remember how many were produced. Graphitti may have info on their site.

The Spidey ornament was actually sculpted by Tony Cipriano. I only did a little clean-up work on it.

Gambit was indeed sculpt by Clay. I only tweaked the coat and hair(per the clients request). I sculpted the small rock base for the pewter version.

I think there were 1000 made, back in '91. I'm still in my 40's (47 years young)

Correct. These are polished bronze. They produce 2-3 per year.

Correct, though the piece was bastardized greatly. He was originally posed in a more menacing fashion, was holding a big gun, and looked really pissed. It was changed because this was when Arnold first began having political aspirations.(He didn't want to be portrayed as a monster?!)

One of my favorites. This kit may still be in production.

Thanks RB for the clarification.
I assume it's safe to assume that the IT statue (pic above) is yours as well??

Feel free to add pics of other pieces that don't surface often (or at all).

This was a 14 carat gold plated sample. It looked incredibly horrible in shiny gold. We forgot we had this sample for many years. I decided to have the gold painted over in transparent colors.
