Default Gentle Giant SDCC Ant Man

This is a pretty cool piece. He's an SDCC exclusive but PGM members can order him. He's $30 which isn't bad for a pretty cool piece. No word on if they'll make a larger version but for now this is the best exclusive I've seen yet.

The diminutive size is pretty cool, but other than that I don't see a whole lot that would make this a "must buy", regardless of how much I love the character.
I think Bowen and Jason Smith pretty much nailed him as far as statuary is concerned. This is for "movie version" collectors only for sure.

Only thing I like is the size. I don't buy movie versions of anything unless iconic; something new movies can't achieve . . . yet. There will constantly be new movie versions, so I don't bite until "iconic" i.e. Reeves as Superman or my Keaton Batman. Who knows, maybe this will be there one day, but now who knows.

I agree about the size...only thing I like about it. $30 isn't bad, though. If I was really into Ant-Man and/or movie pieces it'd probably be a no-brainer.

This may be a bit off topic, but with the new technologies, these don't look like sculptures anymore but exact digital recreations that are cool, but more science than art IMO.

There is definitely a discussion in the community about this. The argument for it still being art is that to use the programs to create it (zbrush for example) still requires a lot of artistic talent.
