Default Polar Lights/Bowen Designs Wolf Man

Hey guys, just wanted to share a garage kit grail I've been hunting for a long while, the Polar Lights 1/4 scale Wolf Man sculpted by the master himself, Randy Bowen! To me, this is the finest sculpt of the Lon Chaney Jr. Wolf Man out there, and there are a lot of really great sculpts out there. I've owned the 1/8 scale styrene release of this kit since it was released back in 1998, when you open the kit up there's an order form for this kit. This kit originally retailed for $189.99 +shipping. Back then it was out of reach for me, but I always kept getting one in the back of my mind.
The details of this kit are second to none, and Randy has really outdone himself with this sculpt. I hardly collect kits or statues in 1/4 scale, but this is my favorite on screen monster and figure'd he deserves a prominent display justifying the scale. My original plan was to take pics earlier in the day, but right now the lighting aint so great, so I'll take pics of the actual kit tomorrow. As of now the kit is till factory sealed. I have 2 or 3 projects in front of this kit, a Moebius Frankenstein/Horizon Wolverine and a Lnar/Dr. X Predator. I'll be doing a work in progress thread when I finally begin building this bad boy. Again, I'll have pics of the actual kit up tomorrow, thanks for looking!

Very cool

Sash's Bowen Collection Thread

If you see the collection thread in new posts, it's because new pics have been added.

Alright here's what I meant to do yesterday, I'm basically un-boxing this kit with you guys, hope you enjoy the pics. I tried to do this in my garage/work area, but the lighting was horrible. The pieces are all cast incredibly clean in cold cast porcelain, hardly any seams to deal with, if any. Tha parts all have a heavy, quality ceramic feel to them, I can't wait to start this kit!

This is really cool...! I like how you're posting this thread - almost feels like we're there with you.

Congrats - had no idea Randy did this one...! I wonder if TrueFaith has seen this yet?

I have the small plastic kit, but the 1/4 scale resin kit is pretty rare and hella expensive if you can find it. Great score there JB!
I envy the fun you're going to have painting it up. Randy makes the cleanest resin kits and they're a pure joy to work on.
Thanks for the sharing your "unboxing" with us!

Thanks for the kind words guys,I'm glad to have you guys with me for the "unboxing"! I still can't believe I finally scored this one. TF, I also have the 1/8 styrene version of this kit, in its own right, its one of the best styrene kits Polar Lights Put out in the mid 90s and itself has become a collector's item. I also agree Randy's old school garage kits were really ahead of their time, especially in production value.
