Odin's son is back, and better than ever.......after a quick turn around on a return to Kelsey (thanks pal) at Bowen Designs to replace the first statue that arrived with a broken Mjolnir, Olivier Coipel's Modern Thor 269/2000 arrived tonight and he looks stunning! I am SO happy to have both the classic and modern versions of Thor in my collection......... I think his modern version costume is one of the best redesigns EVER in comics, right up there with the Silver Age DC redesigns of Flash, Green Lantern, The Atom and Neal Adams Green Arrow.

Wow, really nice, expanding quickly, Love the Modern Thor, just wish the cape would have been a little different, maybe smaller in the back, on the right shoulder area, not such a high arch, and Falcon, Shanna is really outstanding, most of the other's I have also.
That built in case look's really Great, you may need to knockout another wall soon!!
Just received Jocasta from Smashdaddy, it is much better in person, and waiting on Deathlok from Caveman, now looking for Falcon?

Dusty, funny thing as I was rearranging my comic long boxes alphabetically I came across Agent Liberty and I was just wondering if you have any of your original art hanging in your house (the covers to Agent Liberty #1 or the Superman Annual #3 in particular)?

I'm a Buscema and Simonson Thor guy, so that high arching cape is totally up my alley, but the best thing about the Bowen statues are how much they manage to get in the strike zone of just about everyone to varying degrees..... Deathlok is in my opinion one of the most underated statues Bowens ever produced, it is GORGEOUS. It's such a fantastic design and so wonderfully realized in its three dimensional statue form. The Falcon was a favorite when I was little in Mego form, tthe Bowen piece is great, Redwing is wonderfully sculpted as well, the only thing they bricked on was the attachment of him to Falcons arm, the metal pegs are unfortunately visible even after attaching both pieces together, other than that, fantastic.

She looks great, I'm really glad to have added her to the collection. Great job packing her up by the way.

No original art, i wish i had never sold any of it, i'm so embarassed by all of it, i would prefer it never found its way out of my possesion. I cringe when I see most it anymore, but getting Terry Austin to ink the very first cover I ever did will always be one of my best memories working in comics. The only thing I can really say i was ever genuinely proud of having done in comics was putting together the Official Handbook of the Invincible Universe, that I love!

That Invincible Handbook was a great homage. Not to blow smoke up your a$$, Dusty....but I've always been a "comic art" guy. You're a very good artist, if you weren't you wouldn't have gotten the work you did IMO. And this Superman cover with Terry Austin you were talking about is the work of a good artist.
Finally, brainy scientist version Reed, which I really like- photo5 by dustin abell, on Flickr
Love the addition of the Ultimate Nullifier- 6 by dustin abell, on Flickr
Incredibly happy with this set, I hope FF Spidey might be in the wings, he'd finish off the display quite nicely- 7 by dustin abell, on Flickr 9 by dustin abell, on Flickr
