So I saw a thread like this at another forum (totally unrelated to statues) and was grinning with agreement the whole time. Since it also pertains to collections, I thought it might be fun to start one here.
Here are some examples:
You know you're a Bowen Designs collector when...
- Your wife rolls her eyes whenever another package arrives from Bowen Designs
- Your "retirement account" changes to the "Bowen Designs Pre-order account"
- You can assemble an Ikea Detolf with your eyes closed
- You finally cave in and buy your first Bowen, and days later you find yourself constantly stalking the BST section/ebay cuz you want MORE
You know you're a Bowen fan when your wife tells you she wants a separation and one of the reasons she gives is that you like the statues more than her. She wasn't wrong.
- When you and your UPS driver call each other by name and ask "how are the kids"?
- When you file your taxes and enter Bowen Designs as the beneficiary of your return.
- When the phone rings, your wife sees the BD on caller ID and says "Virginia is calling."
- You look at other companies statues and say "If Bowen did it, he'd look like he stepped of the comic page, not some acid trip after playing Marvel Alliance and watching Tron.
- Your mantra is "Cloth is for dolls."
- You were part of the Dazzler Wars of 2007.
- You wore a shirt of quotes in Greenwich Village and some guy asks you "What's this about a Full Size Man Thing"?
-When Stallone comes on the screen in Nighthawks, you laugh out loud.
- You know what BCFRN means.
- You wish your wife or girlfriend came with a "Change-O-Head"
- You watch a Cubs game and see a fan with a bag on their head and wonder "Al?"
- Now when you hear someone is nicknamed "Rocky", your don't automatically assume it's a man.
- Your attic is full of statue boxes and your garage is full of empty shipping boxes.
- You suddenly hear your wife yell "That statue was NOT there a week ago!"
- Your kids know who M.O.D.O.K is.
- When you hear "Mini Bust" your first thought IS NOT Keira Knightly.
- 1-503-786-0542 is programmed into your phone
- You actually remember a time you collected statues and were NOT on a forum.

...when you correct people in the LCS when they start talking incorectly about Bowen statues that have been released, and which phase.

oh i stalked ebay for months when i first started collecting, and boxes soon became a big issue. Not to mention when you realize that you have 7 preorder statues and your debating on preordering another fuuuuuu, i need a raise !! Also realizing you haven't bought a statue in a while, only to realize that its the clam before the storm of releases.
