You should always open for inspection at least IMO. That being said, she's not for everyone so keep or sell based on your gut.
When there's no doubt that I'm keeping a piece, I do open and inspect. When there's a possibility that I might never display it and just move it I keep it sealed. It sells faster/easier that way in my experiences.
Because I buy 90% of my pieces directly through a Diamond account, damages are useless in terms of inspections. I can't return them to Diamond after a couple days have passed.
I've asked this on several other places and have yet to get a response, so maybe I will get one here.
The leather tassel on the end of the spear is sliding off my my statue. Was there a piece that holds it in place or is it suppose to just slide on and off?
It is suppose to slide on and off, otherwise it wouldn't fit through her hair. That being said, the spear is angled almost horizontal, so mine doesn't fall off, it stays exactly where I put it; but will easily come off when I want it to.
Mine slides off it I just slightly move the statue. I'm going to a craft store on one of my days off to see there is something I can use to hold it in place.
Great idea, reviewing these statues, and a great review, too!
The description you give of Shanna, both good and bad, is insightful and the photos are great. This is a great service you are providing for us statue enthusiasts.
Thanks for your efforts.
