- What year you started collecting Bowen and with what piece?
Late year 2008. It took me a long while to get Bowen Designs statues. Mainly because no toy stores or comic shops here would bring them in. Finally, I think it was about a year or 2 ago, SideShow became the distributor for Bowen Designs. As my favourite toy store gets a lot of his stuff from a SideShow distributor in Singapore called Simply Toys, I finally got to order Bowen stuff. It also took me a while because I was waiting for the right statue. The ones I would like. I am so glad Mark Newman sculpts for Bowen Designs.

Especially when he was like turning good in the X-Men run by Jim Lee. But he couldn't turn good because nobody would let him forget that he was bad.
Favourite Hero: Spiderman
I'm reading a lot of Amazing Spiderman now. I'm subscribing to it on a regular basis and the release schedule of 3 issues a month is a lot of Spiderman for me.
The thing I like about Spiderman is that, I always thought that if I had a lot power, if I were special like Spiderman, a hero, everybody would love me, chicks would dig me. But Spiderman shows that is not always the case in the world. He is hated, treated with prejudice, and he doesn't hit it with the girls. He has problems finding dates! Haha. Both as Spiderman and also Peter Parker.
The best thing I like about Spiderman? Good old fashioned superhero morals. With great powers, come great responsibilities. Peter Parker has strong sense of family values. Never kill, and always do the right thing.

Jim Lee, when he used to work for Marvel. He is working for DC now. But I still like him and he is my No.1 superstar artist/entrepreneur idol.
Now at Marvel? I think I can say Adi Granov. But most of the guys I liked a lot are J.Scott Campbell, J.G.Jones, Alex Ross, Marc Silvestri.....

I would like to go to Dubai again for a vacation. I was there 7 days, working at the Grand Hyatt hotel during the International Organics Food Exhibition in 2006. I was introducing & explaining my employer's Organic Food Franchise programme to visitors at our booth.

I'm a nerd. I wanted to become an artist after finishing secondary school/high school and study Graphic Designs. But my parents wanted me to study business. So I ended up graduating from Curtin University Australia with my Bachelor of Commerce. Having worked for more than 5 years in the busines world in various FMCG companies, now, I'm back at college doing a 2 years diploma in Graphic Designs. Wahoo!
I'm not a big sports fan. But I do regular exercise, running in the field for 30 to 45 minutes a day, and some weight lifting at home.

A child of th 70's, literally born in 1970. Classic comics, and BowenDesigns is a wonderful combination, in my opinion. I'm a single, thirtysomething, whose never been married. I love movies, video games (Modern Warfare kick's ass), art, and music. Been in the Military a few different times, trying to get into Law Enforcement right now. Got an Associate's degree in CADD in 2000. I love life, beer, bikes, 4x4's, women, guns, art, power tools.

Honestly Al, I think it's a combination of things. I'm sure there are some shy people, but another thing is time. These things are a little time consuming to fill out and when you add the fact that some of us have filled out other versions of these things, well... Don't get me wrong, I really like the sentiment behind these, for us to get to know each other better. I just think we need to come up with a more entertaining way of doing it is all. The truth is, I've gotten to know some of the guys better just by participating in threads like Common Ground, and other statue related threads in general. There's also the Werewolf game, that didn't really do it for me, but I know plenty of people have become pretty tight through that game. Participating in the forum threads is really the best way to get to know people better IMO. Please don't take any of this the wrong way, it's not a criticism, just an observation.

The truth of the matter is, I enjoy a good alcoholic drink as much as the next guy, family life has just mellowed me out in that regard. I started drinking very young and I burned brightly, but burned out quickly, as it were. I partied pretty hard for a while until I got a DUI at 23. It was a blessing in disguise, I cut back on the drinks and the partying. I get my drink on every once in a while, but not that often anymore, since my son was born three years ago. I'll drink a couple of beers a week, but that's about it. That's my excuse!

I think you are the only one who mentioned beer! Thanks for sharing with us an embarrassing moment. Hopefully, someone else will read about your experience & think next time they go out & drink in moderation.
