I haven't been collecting statues very long, in fact my first statue was aquired at the Emerald City Comic Con. in March. Since then I've purchased 11 more Bowens, plus SideShow Legendary Venom and Carnage. Yeah I've pretty much lost my mind and spent all of my money lol. So far I'm only collecting Villians, although my GF likes Fantastic Four so I've purchased a couple of those ones. As for me outside of statues, I'm an Electrician (apprentice), and I really have no time to have much of a life during the work week. Weekends are spent hanging out, drinking, and searching for comic books I need for my ever growing collection.

I've always been into comics one way or another, used to collect majorly in high school and like a dumba$$ sold them all for a god aweful low price. Now I just pick and choose a graded comic or something like that and just pick up a statue here or there. I'm not a huge collector but I collect different things like sports memoribila, comics and statues so I don't have a ton of things. I also ride a 2009 Yamaha R6 that is my baby. My other baby is my 5 year old daughter. My love is my GF of 2 years whom I just got married to. My other love is watching movies, video games and Blu Ray!!!

I'm a long time comic book fan and collector. In recent years, as life sometimes goes, I've not had as much time to collect and read comics as I use to. To indirectly satisfy my passion for comic art and comic characters I've found myself collecting original comic art and comic character statues. Compared to some of the great epic statue collections I've seen on this forum my collection is small but it's something I really enjoy.

- Write a short paragraph about yourself. Like I said, I'm new here. I can see how collecting Bowen can be a slippery slope like everything. I've been collecting comics since I was about 10, and everything from movie posters to original artwork recently. Ready to get into something new and Bowen is it. I'll be looking around the website pretty religiously over the next few weeks trying to get a gauge on what are the consensus best statues out there so I can start my collection with them. Glad to be here all!

Hello,
My name is Troy and I am the owner of Fanboy Collectibles (Fanboy Collectibles For Some Its a Hobby to Us Its an Obsession) . I've been a fellow collector for close to thirty years. Like most of us, I started with comic books and actions figures. As the years went by and I had some money to spend I got into statues and mini-busts, along with a few odds and end pieces and the occasional sports autograph. Over the last few years I started with collecting comic art, both original pages and commissions. So now when I head to a convention I get pulled in every direction at once, since there is almost always something I'm interested in at every booth and table.
So why start a collectibles business in today's economy? For years I worked at a few well known companies in Midtown Manhattan, Accenture & Merrill Lynch being the most notable. After moving on from there I had taken a job managing a much smaller company. While it didn't have the prestige of those larger firms, it was a step up in that it allowed me to manage the organization and the day to day running's. I couldn't complain about the pay either. Unfortunately when the economy suffered it's recent downturn, I was laid off and left to decide what the next step was going to be. After going back and forth with a few ideas, I decided to look into opening my own business and what better then to go with something you know and are passionate about. Thankfully I had the savings and was lucky enough to be given a lot of valuable advice by a very well known online retailer. I had spent quite some time at his place of business talking about this hobby, so when I decided to go in this direction he was extremely generous with his time and knowledge, for which I will always be thankful.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post the name of the site. If it isn't allowed, could a moderator please feel free to delete it out of this post.
