I just don't remember her having the jacket much in the comics. The X-Men cartoon pilot, yes, the arcade, yes, some collecting cards, yes. But my Bowen collection doesn't consist of characters in an arcade, TV, or collector card version, it's the comic versions we collect. NO JACKET!
Fun fact about the cartoon, arcade game, and trading cards: they were all based on the comics.
I don't care about the jacket. I would prefer without, but either way is fine by me. I think Bowen is underestimating the Blue Dazzler. She is WAY more popular than Disco Dazzler. I also skipped disco and I'm hoping for this one (and Longshot). Psylocke is coming, it seems, and I'm really looking forward to that

Are these from the Uncanny X-Men series? I don't remember them and that's the team I'm trying to build.
Also, none of the pictures you showed are her wearing her blue costume with the jacket, and none of these shown are the brown bomber jacket that some people are requesting; I don't count the last photo as that's a trading card and you can refer to my first post that you commented on. The comic references you've shown are not the blue costume with the jacket, which again, I can't remember being in the Uncanny X-Men 80's team.

Whoa, calm down, big guy. I was just refuting your claim that she only wore a jacket in trading cards, cartoons, and video games, never comics.
You said "it's the comic versions that we collect," but even if we limit her "comic" look to Uncanny X-Men issues 217-225 (mind you I didn't even take the time to flip through my back issues, I just did a cursory, ten-second scan of covers here: Uncanny X-Men Covers #200-249), you'll find she was wearing a jacket on the cover of issue 219.
Also among that span, her hair length changes, sometimes she's wearing sunglasses, sometimes she shows her midriff, sometimes she's wearing a headband, sometimes she's wearing earrings, sometimes her leggings cut off at the calf, I could go on and on....
My point was her look in the comics from issue to issue, like Wasp, wasn't exactly definitive. I would argue that her look in the cartoons and arcade game was perhaps the most iconic because it was a composite of all her different 80s looks and a lot more people probably saw the cartoon or went to the arcade than read every issue of the comics.
Feel free to say you prefer or advocate a certain look from a specific panel or cover, just don't say the one you like is the only one that's comic-accurate when that clearly isn't the case.
I apologize in advance if any of this comes off as offensive. That is not my intent, just trying to make my point. No hard feelings on my end.

Scribe, let's not make the classic forum mistake of reading a thread post in any other way than it's written, which is what I think you did, since you think I need to "calm down". Reading/interpreting aggression or other emotions that aren't there, and reading more than what the words actually say in a thread can lead to misunderstandings. I numbered your paragraphs so I could respond in kind.
1. Was that my claim? I'm pretty sure I said "I don't remember," which is very far off from a "claim" that she didn't. In fact, it was more of a question to show me where she did. Thank's for the cover btw, I'd like to see more of her, with that look, from that series if you're able.
2. I'm well aware of the change in her look, hence my different photo's in the original post. The first pic showing the shoulder length hair, the second the really short hair, and me also pointing out that this is one of the things that changes.
3. Again, did I say that only one is comic accurate? Simply said I don't remember. Refer again to answers 1 (only said I don't remember") and 2 (my very first post showed that there are more versions than the one I'm "Advocat[ing]")
4. Clearly it is your intent when you start a post off with "Whoa, calm down, big guy." Does anyone like to be referred to in such a manner? I know I don't. So let's also not make the mistake of starting harsh and ending easy just to appease a reader.
To sum up, I know there are multiple portrayals of the character, as is evident by my first post. I think you missed the point that this thread is for Dazzler Blue, when you posted pics to prove your point of Dazzler in a jacket, just not with her blue costume on. You're cover pic was spot on and I encourage you to post more of her looking like that to prove your point; if you can find any with the brown bomber jacket, that would be even better. That was what I was encouraging others to do with my comment "I don't remember," which I hope we can agree is a long way off from me "advocat[ing] [my Blue Dazzler is] . . . the only one that's comic-accurate."

I remember reading X-Men 219 when it came out, and seeing that front page and really wonder if Havok would survive ... arh, the good old days. I was so naive and life was so much more interesting :-)
Anyway, Blue Dazzler - NOW! (With or without jacket)
