Default Bowen The Yellow Kid Bronze Statue from 1995

Just wondering if anybody here has one of these or if you won this auction just moments ago. I was seriously thinking about bidding on this one but couldn't pull the trigger. $1500 was just too much, but it did retail for $2K when it came out 14 years ago. For being done that long ago, the quality does look pretty amazing, imo.
I know there was another that sold within the past 6 months, but I don't remember what it went for and can't find any info.

Randy......anything you can tell me/us about this little guy?????

I'd love one of these... don't know much about the retail though.

Well......I managed to pick up one of these off the bay and it arrived yesterday. Very excited to add this little dude to my bronze collection!!!
Came brand new, in original box with COA, matching numbered print, AND the gold ring in the hidden box in the base!! #79/100.
Originally retailed for $1999 back in 1995........got it for a steal based on that!

I get the feeling that a lot of folks don't understand the comic historical importance of The Yellow Kid.

Diamond Galleries commissioned me to create this statue. It was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of comics. 100 were made. Each one has a secret compartment containing a 24 ct. gold ring featuring the Yellow Kid with wiggling ears. I sculpted the ring as well.

It did not sell very well initially. Out of the 100 produced I think only 50 sold. Every once in a while Diamond Galleries releases a few for auction on ebay. They usually sell for between $900-$1500.

Very cool. I think we need more secret compartment statues, maybe club exclusive busts or something. Would love to see the ring.

Interesting base. Looks like carved soapstone.

The $10000 Cap bronze expired without a bid.
Well, it was missing the Steve Rogers bust, after all.
