It's well past time for me to upgrade from my Sprint HTC EVO. With the iPhone 5 about to be released, I've been researching whether to switch from Android to Apple. I haven't had much experience with iPhones, so I tried a friend's this week. The first thing I noticed was how small the display was compared to my HTC EVO! I also felt much more comfortable manipulating my Android compared to the iPhone. So, at this point, I'm leaning towards continuing with the HTC EVO series. Have any of you tried both? If so, which do you prefer and why?
PS: I could care less about plans. I have Sprint and everything is unlimited, so that is not a factor.
I heard that the iPhone made some improvement, and one of which you may not feel affected - which is a smaller form factor charger plug.
Also, they made the screen 1/2" larger - still not the size of your current phone's screen...but from early reviews, it's most welcomed by Apple enthusiasts.
Also, it's thinner, lighter and made of different materials than the previous iteration of iPhones.
Since they're changing over the technology, it may be the best time to make the switch.
I'm taking a look right now between sticking with my Blackberry, or graduating to a iPhone 5.
My issue is that we have so many Apple gadgets with the older "plug" - going to the new iPhone 5 may throw us.
Have any of you iPhone enthusiasts ever used an HTC?
my dad used an HTC before but after than he switched to iphone 4s. and most of my friends did also. android phones has a lot to offer when it comes to features of the phone itself, but when it comes to the iphone it is very user friendly. i think just the touch screen alone is a winner. you should go to the apple store and play with the iphones that they have on displays.

I've tried iPhones. What frustrates me is that iPhone users just say iPhone is the best without ever researching the difference.

Oh yeah. I admit there are other smart phones that are better than the iphones features wise. The specs of the iphones or features are always late. But a lot of people still buys them.
And thats something.

That's like saying X-Men comics are good because a lot of people buy them!
A phone is only as good as the network it is on... well, not really. I would stick with what you know and stay with droid. The Galaxy S3 is an awesome phone and on verizon's 4g LTE network it is ridiculously fast. Sprint, i believe, does not have a LTE network yet. I think it's coming, but it will take a while for it to be as big and encompassing as Verizon's 4g LTE network.
Just a reminder that when your thinking iPhone you've also got an amazing ecosystem, incredible support and training network. Airplay on iphone!! Let's not forget the genius bar, this experience alone rivals other phones. Would I get iPhone 5 overnSamsungs etc? Hell yes, have I checked out others, yes. I like the larger screen but I have an iPad for that so its not a major feature. If none of this stuff matters to you then just go with the one your gut tells you.
