My eyes almost shot out of my head when I saw this! How could these IDIOTS think this is funny?!?!?!? I remember being a little boy and watching the news when this happened and our teachers talking about it at school the next day. I went to Catholic school and I think we even got pulled out of class to have a mass for these poor children and their parents. I was horrified that all those kids were dead.

I've made my share of BIG mistakes...many with much regret...

If this guy admits to it, and does something substantial and sincere to make it right, then, in my opinion, should be spared.

However, it was pretty distasteful....

If you owned this company or were on the board of directors, would you want a guy, who uses this kind of judgement, to run your company? I wouldn't. I'd fire him in a second.

I know I wouldn't make any snappy judgments. The guy got there for a reason, and I think I'd give this knucklehead a chance to explain himself.

I think it's always going to be a gut reaction to fire someone immediately. So for me to give this guy a chance to explain himself, well, that's just me - I don't disgree with anyone else wanting to can his arse immediately.

a shock campaign ALWAYS gets attention. but you have to ask yourself, is negative attention still good attention, especially when it casts your company in such a light as mass suicide. this advertising idea should have been scrapped before it ever reached the public's eye. unless of course, the company is selling suicide machines.

It was a bad move...I can only imagine how the adverstising company that came up with it felt when they sold it. The blame on that one can go around, but at the end of the day, the target is on Leslie...

I remember when Gossip Girl got some shock campaign's going based on the intitial feedback from their pilot season...

I think the billboard is funny. Sorry, but I do. Good lord it's been more than 30 years and these people drank the kool aid willingly. In fact "drinking the kool aid" has been in our political parlance ever since.

To everyone who is "offended" by the billboard I would say "Lighten up, Frances". Are you really offended by this? Does it really tug at your heart strings or give you a sick feeling in your stomach?

I hope the day never comes when nobody can do or say anything a little off PC without being villified for it, but it seems to me that is where we are headed.

thats not true, Teddy. Not all of them drank the kool-aid willingly. Some were actually forced, some were brainwashed, and then some did take it willinglingly.

I don't think the manager should be fired though. It was a mistake, but he could be a good manager who just made a mistake.

Whether its funny or not, you can't glorify cults. But, I'm in no way offended by the billboard. But, others could be.
