We have them in NJ as well. The problem is, they are usually kids movies, which means the ignorant & selfish parents are still going to bring their crying babies to hugely anticipated movies, like Dark Knight Rises & ruin the experience for everyone else.

The big ones by me I think do special screenings for all movies for the moms and pops.
However, I bet the times aren't great. Probably in the morning or middle of the day during the week when parents aren't likely to be able to attend.
I'm more worried about how loud some of these movies are and what it might to do a babies hearing than my own comfort in the movie.
This is funny....I just went and saw Batman Rises today at 1:30pm. The theater was packed and there was a woman who brought a crying one year old. Fortunately she would get up and walk out the room whenever the baby started crying (which was quite often). Atleast she had the decency to walk out the room in respect to others though!

If she had an respect, she wouldn't have intruded on others' comfort with a crying one year old.
I have a one year old daughter, that I will never take to a evening movie. I'm lucky that my local draft house has parent day every Tuesday where you can take your babies and children.
For me bringing babies is not a good idea especially to a movie like this. Bring them later when all the hype has died down or when an early Sunday morning.
There's just one thing that really bugs the sh*t out of me...infringing on other people's needs, enjoyments or comfort. For examples:
- Driving slow in the passing lane.
- Texting at the movies.
- Bringing babies to the movies.
- Butting in when a guy is in a deep conversation with a pretty girl.
Do whatever silly, insipid things you want to do with your life, just don't affect others negatively.
Al, that is pretty much the mantra I live by. The world would be a better place if people would just think about others. I could go on and on about driving...
But as far as babies in the movies, I agree that it is selfish. I went to a late showing of Prometheus and someone had brought their baby in. Even if you think it will sleep the whole time, the chance that it won't is enough reason not to bring them. I have a three year old and we have never take him to an adult, late movie. We simply go without. It is our sacrifice because we respect other people. I wish more would do the same.
Maybe this is the over-protective parent in me but I'm less concerned about them being inconsiderate to others and more shocked by how irresponsible and negligent they were. A 4 month old baby does not need to be in an enclosed theater with 150 other people and their germs. The speakers are too loud for a newborns ears, there is no place for them to sleep or be changed, it more dangerous driving around at night, etc... It's just totally S$%T parenting in my opinion.
