I have not seen one reference to this fantastic show on SM as of yet.
I'm kind of shocked to be honest. If you have not been watching it, you are really missing out on something special. Anyways, i could profess my love and all the reasons for my affection for the show all night.
What i would like to know is if anyone plans on collecting any statues or busts from the show? Once they are regularly available. It has to happen at some point. There is, quite surprisingly, a lack of product for the show available to the fans. I don't believe they have action figures even. Just mugs, patches, keychains and little stuff like that from what I have seen. I know someone is producing a mini-bust of Khaleesi but I am not terribly impressed with it. Entertainment Earth online offers this bust as well as a variant version with a different dragon.
FYI: The Khaleesi busts are expensive for what they are. Without looking, I believe the regular and exclusive versions are $130/$140. I can also tell you, if you set up a wholesale account there is a two piece minimum for the regular version and 1 piece minimum for the exclusive. -That is from EE. I do not know what Diamond or other wholesalers will be charging. I believe they both carried a wholesale price of $73 each.
Anyone have anything they would like to say about product here? ...or just the awesome show itself?

I m enthusiastic to do so but can't imagine undertaking such a massive fictional read until after I am retired -maybe.
Interestingly, I saw something recently about the author's, George R. Martin, fondness for Marvel comics. It was on television and it left me with the impression that he had done some comics work before but I have not looked into it. Does anyone know if he has?
Another interesting thing is that i have the impression the television show must be fairly true to it's source. Mr. Martin revealed that the whole thing began with his imagining of the scene where the dire wolf pups are found by the Stark brothers. He descriobed it more generically though refering to them not as the Starks but as medieval-like people. He also said that he wrote the part or Tyrion (not sure how that is spelled) Lannister with Peter Dinklage in mind. So, this epic was likely destined to be filmed from page 1.

There is no reason to ever wait to read anything. You should read them. The only down side, it's hard to find good books when you're done.
Also, I believe GG is doing a statue of the iron throne from the show.
Having watched the show and love it, all I can say is . . . read the books. If you're that excited about a show, how can you not read the books?
GG has busts and statues in the pipeline. They've already sneaked a few (John Snow and Tyrion FS, Khaleesi bust). Not to hot on the bust, but I'm glad GG picked up the license after seeing what they've done with the Star Wars line.
The company that made the bust you are referring to also made a few other busts...two to be exact. The Hound and Eddard Stark. They both has exclusive versions as well.
Absolutely love the show and the books are even better, especially if you like Tryion. They are real page turners so it doesn't take nearly as long to burn through the entire series as it would seem. Unfortunately, Sash is right - it will make it harder to find "good books" after reading these.
Edit: Just checked - that is not the same company. That bust is done by Dark Horse and solicited through GG. It's basically head and shoulders set flush on a short round base, correct? If that is the direction of the bust line, I'm afraid I'll have to pass, but the FSs are nice.
Here is a link to the three regular edition busts by Valyrian Resin available as a set for $154.99 3- Pack Regular Busts

Yes, head and shoulders (without dandruff). That is the one. It's not a very good representation of the actress.
I can't say the three pack particularly interests me either. I like busts that are a recreation of something. GG is great for life-like recreations of actor-portrayed characters and Bowen Designs (my favourite), for me, is perfect at capturing the classic looks of the Marvel characters I grew up with and have integrity and a very nostalgic quality. Bowen's pieces look as though they have leapt directly off of the comic book pages! These pieces, unless i am mistaken, must be from character imaginings somewhat specific to the artist only.
Thanks for all of the great information. I will look up the FS pieces.
I'm not a particular fan of movie renditions. The Valyrian Resin busts to my the best of my knowledge are the sculptors vision of the characters based on the decriptions in the books. I've never seen any images attributed to the series before so can't be sure.
I was just hoping that the busts would be more in line with Bowen or GG's Star War busts, taking it all the way down to the waistline. If that were the case I'd snatch up EVERY character they made. As is, that must be a decent sized H&S sculpt to retail for $124.

Love the show and it pushed me to read the books. The books are a great read. I was fearful of the books being a bit to much as far as the many characters involved as I told by fans. Looking back I don't know why was worried since I have read many fantasy books such as Tolkien, Moorcock and RA Salvaltore. and the likes. However I think watching the series has helped putting faces with names.
I am on the 3rd book as of now and can't put them down. I have never came across a series where people are so ready to leak out spoilers online. So I stopped looking at any Game of thrones pictures on facebook.

I'm on the third book now as well. I also agree the show helps with all the characters in the books.
And damn does George R Martin know how to pull a gut punch on you in these books.

Yep, he does set things up and knocks them down without you seeing it coming. Afterward it makes sense and makes one feel like a dolt for not seeing it coming.
