after the 'what do you think about oddball' thread started by al, it now seems i've been ordered to not reply in the SM Exclusive Spider-Man thread or my posts will be deleted because of whiny little puds that can't allow us to just be us.
i was invited here specifically because of the BS that SF was laying on people, not allowing people to have their own opinion without being tar and feathered. al himself was given the boot from SF for that reason. yet now, it seems al has imposed this ass backwards philosophy here.
message received loud and clear al. gene (Jack Daddy) has been in my corner preventing a perma-ban for now but how do you keep a bird from flying? cut off his wings.
a HUGE thanks to al for being a hypocrite. i guess you whiny little puds got your wish. even though i haven't been banned, i will NOT be posting my opinions here anymore because it appears individuality has been squelched once again. just call this place SF2.
Oddy has a point - Al started erasing posts because he didn't agree with what they were saying - they weren't in bad taste or rude - merely stating opinions. That shouldn't be the policy of any public forum. REAL disappointing.
I know the feeling, Oddball. I'm not sure what the point of having a discussion forum is if you only want to see your own views parroted back at you. If that's all you want, why not just open up Microsoft Word, type your thoughts, then copy and paste them 100 times?
Hate to see you go. I didn't always agree with you or your posting style, but that thread wasn't one of the examples of "bad Oddball."
Actually Odd is insulting many times but I don't think a thread should have been started to see if oddball is liked by everyone. I think that thread had good intentions as Al tries to get peoples opinions before actions sometimes and not just act like a biased jerk
The Oddball thread was in poor taste. Granted I don't think there is anyone here who agreed with him 100% of the time, but I don't think there is anyone here who agrees with me 100% of the time, that's life.
Forum sites are discussion based, the more they are controlled by administrators, the less I visit, the less I read, the less I post, the less I click on their banners.
I think I was deleted from the ebay spidey thread for taking a jab at someone's grammar/sentence structure. Whatever happened to sticks and stones people?
Granted this site is private and the admin can do whatever they want, but for those of us who live with the liberty of free speech in our every day lives, it's always a turn off when our speech is censored.
I love this site and visit multiple times a day, but I definitely take a pause and consider spending time elsewhere when I see things happening like they have the past month or so.
Odd gets on our cases but sometimes his posts have value
As far as ARH section, I never needed to delete anything from him or anyone else in fact.
Will go back and read
I hope you're not really going to go Oddball. Although you have strong opinions, some of them are worth hearing. I think what's important is to remember that the main purpose of this message board is to celebrate our love for collectible statues. I do think the right to express an opinion should be protected and not abused. On the other hand, I think repeatedly stating the same view and opinion can tend to change the nature of what the main conversation here should be about. I'm torn about the actions being taken in regards to censorship but I do acknowledge that there is a need to tone down some of the debate.
If this is the final goodbye Oddball, them I wish you the very best and thank you for the tidbits of advice you have given me over the last few years.
If you decide to stay, then I would like to see your collection. I know you buy a lot of statues and have a stash as well as a display (I assume there's one). Let's see it. Start a collection thread so we can talk to you about your collection. I think that would be cool.

Reme, oddball doesnt have a collection thread?? Its hard to keep track of the collection threads. Theres too many. If he doesnt have one yet, i hope he makes one.
Thats pretty much i do here i check other collectors collection and get ideas from theyre style of collecting. For example, the paint of the room, detolf, cabinets, comics, team displays, etc. hope its not a final goodbye!
This site started out as something really great and fun. Al invited me (and probably 1000 others) over here, and I felt special and I loved just "being" here. I made some "friends" here. This started to be the place I visited once a day. It actually brought me back to comics.
Oddball and I have "debated" on different occasions, be we have always managed to turn the "fight" into friendly banter. That is possibly with Oddball. Yes, he'll come at you like a freight train, but if you just move aside and calm down, so will he.
I have no idea what is going on in your life, Al, but to me, it seems like you started coming down WAAAY to hard on people. Jeff, who has done tremendous work for this site, you snarled at him in the Spider debate. Other members too. Over nothing. Somebody else pointed it out and you started telling him off.
A lot of people love this site and they really admire what you have build (you and Gene). But this is no way to treat people. You have to be bigger than this. You have to be above all the petty bullshit. You used to be.
I don't especially like Oddball (I don't dislike him either), but I think it was a really rotten thing to do, starting a thread like that, I gotta say. It's a lousy way to treat another person. And it says an awful lot about a man who would do that.
We all make mistakes, but we need to be more than our mistakes and the only way we can be that is by apologizing and moving on.
Reme, the solution to people derailing a thread is not censorship, but just ignore them. It's as simple as that. And go back and read (well, you can't, cause they have been deleted :-) what people wrote. It wasn't spiteful and it wasn't harmful. They simply disagreed with Al.
The Oddball thread was in poor taste. Granted I don't think there is anyone here who agreed with him 100% of the time, but I don't think there is anyone here who agrees with me 100% of the time, that's life.
I don't even agree with me 100% of the time.
I hope you don't go Oddball. I like having you around. I didn't see the thread on you but if I had, I would have said I like you, even though we've had a dust up or two in the past.
Oh and here is something I rarely say, I agree with Ratchet on this one.......
Wow, I had no idea Oddball was banned! Where the hell was I? That's too bad. I thought he was cool. I even bought my White Storm off him. Nothing wrong with being opinionated on a discussion forum, people.
It's not really something I feel should be discussed especially without the offending person here. It would be one sided and unfair. I will only say it was a culmination of many things. Kilowog, that "Open Letter" wasn't the final straw but it was one of the last ones.
I think the same guy posted on Sideshow Freaks forum saying he caught Randy Bowen in an outright lie about chroming rights of a statue. Was that true? If it wasn't I can see why he was banned. If it was what does that say?
