I don't know if this one pre-dates my previous post, but I'm sure they came out around the same time (I can't exactly remember which issue I technically READ first, but whatever). I got this free in the 80's from a dentist's office, I believe. Not the greatest story, but it cemented my love for all things Dr. Octopus forever.

it's also the reason I asked Eliot Brown if he would draw it for the cover to the issue of Backissue magazine I interviewed him for, I got to art direct that particular cover and color it up as well. I straight lifted the cover blurb right off the actual cover to use on the BI cover! So much fun for me, thanks Spidey 130!!!!!

Hah. . that's great. The AIM issue I showed came out in 1980. . . gave me the exact same love for all things Green Goblin.

My first issue was Amazing Spiderman #154 with the Armored Sandman.

That's why when Bowen did the Armored Sandman I had to have it. Brought back a lot of nostalgia from my childhood in the 70's. Totally thought that Sandman was the coolest villian ever.

hmmm.......with all these threads being moved, I've always wondered why these "Post a Cover" threads are in the Bowen section. this has nothing to do with Bowen. lol.

Wow. I'm afraid I'm going to make you all feel old...

I think I actually got into Adjectiveless before I got into Amazing. I can't remember buying any Spidey books before this one:

I think this was my first Amazing book:

This was my first issue. I got it from my uncle when I was a kid. I would have been 10 and it was just when I started using my money to buy comics. I must have read it a million times. I still have it but its beat to hell. I ended up buying a NM copy last year so I could keep it in my collection.

Purchased Happily from:

Lordbusto - Omega Red FS
cyberpunk12 - BRB and Battle Armor Thor MB
Quicksilver - WWII Cap FS and Gargoyle Daredevil FS
radicalmichael - Ghost Rider (KETCH) FS
impossiblepie - Vindicator MB

I had seen other Spiderman comics before this, but this issue was the first I ever owned when I woke up one morning and was among four comic books my Dad brought home from work the night before. My eyes lit up and I was wide awake all morning. Ross Andru will always be my favorite Spiderman artist.

Gotta say, I was not a Ross Andru fan as a kid. That may explain why I never started buying Spidey till the original Romita Jr. run. I'll have to go back & look at his art & see if my tastes have changed...

Was given to me by my uncle when Spider-Man came out in the movies. This started it all.
