Default Room Remodel Project

Turning my unfinished "raw" free weight/small storage room into a "semi-finished" hybrid free weight/display room.

I'm working with my contractor on this. Difficult to get good pix so it doesn't look like much right now. I'll probably record a little video at some point before we get started in a couple of weeks. The room itself is about 15'x12' with 9' ceiling. This won't be overly fancy as I don't want to spend a bunch of money. If I drywall and drop in a ceiling I'd lose about 25%-33% of space due to the need to build around a furnace unit and exposed pipes. Instead going for a kind of polished industrial look. Will probably end up painting the furnace a flat black so it looks cool and may swap out plastic pipes for metal so they don't seem so fragile.

The shelves will be about 10 ft along one wall, and 8 feet along another and 16-18" deep. Then a set of 2-ft-wide recessed in shelves that I may have painted black just for contrast.

The weight bench is still going to be in the middle of everything so hopefully it won't feel like a bull in a china shop or I'll have to rethink.

Anyway, I figure it should take about 2 months to complete.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Any learns will be appreciated. I'm about to start on my own project next month turning the garage into a Studio office/Display/Home theatre.

Looking forward to your progress........ I want to have a custom glass door/shelving display case/book shelf built into my home office.......... future home to my "Themed" Bowen displays"........ I'm imagining the Monsters of Marvel, Women of Marvel and the Bad Guys of Marvel....... my top of the stairs display case is quickly filling up............but first I have to re-carpet...not looking forward to that! Good luck!

Thanks. My contractor was finally getting back around to this, but now I have to replace the projector in the home theater. ARRGH! But am going 3D this time.
