PIC: BRUSH with GREATNESS: Hellsbells and Drew Brees
While I was deployed overseas I got an early word that Drew Brees was heading out our way! Since I had that advanced notice, I had my wife mail me my Brees Chargers jersey, a McFarlane boxed figure, and other stuff for him to sign! Not just that, but I also knew the exact flight he was flying in on and this is a pic of him and I just as he got off his flight on our base in the air terminal:
Dude is cool as hell! He just won the Super Bowl about a month prior and took the time out to visit the troops overseas! Another cool thing that happened was that he (and two other players - LB Donnie Edwards and TE Billy Miller) were to sit and watch our flag football tournament final game as honorary guests, but it turns out that one of the teams had a few players short...so who steps in to play in their place!? Brees and the players! Brees didn't let up either! He went all out launching bombs down the field all game long! Afterward we had a meet and greet session and Brees stayed out for hours till the last person got their signature! Cool dude....
Dude that is awesome! I didn't think he would ever come back from that injury in San Diego though. Glad there are still awesome down to earth athletes.
