I remember this cover fondly. I actually just turned around and picked it up to look at it too! (I have #15, 16 and then #25 and on up with some gaps. I hate gaps!) Great story. When I was a kid I had a friend who had an older brother who had a copy of Conan #1 that I read. Wonder whatever happened to it? sigh... he had some other early great stuff too!

I read an extensive article about this. The producers DID NOT want like, no felt it was the right direction for the Conan franchise when they filmed that re-boot.

They want to continue Conan's story from the original film, from the perspective that he has aged and is in the twilight of his years as a ruler.

Many of you probably remember at the end of the film where he was sitting on the throne, brooding...the movie reflects on that period, and how he's ended up where he is now.

The article read like the producers are going to stick to the true source material from the original film.

I didn't see the so called, "re-boot" and now I'm glad. It will never be part of the "cannon" mythology...
