Published 1976, (before the movie came out)
So I picked this up at a downtown bookstore in Milwaukee. I found it on eBay, and low and behold it was a local store so I went and picked it up. Seems to be in great condition, but I do not know much about this book.... I only paid 35 bucks for it.... I am happy with it. I think it is a first edition as it does not say otherwise. I was really impressed by the condition of the book and the dustjacket....
After some research, this is the first edition of the Hardcover they put out through Science Fiction Book Club. The actual first edition was a paperback.
No difference in story, jsut the HC was a Book Club edition. But it is a first print. The softcover went through many, many prints.
