Lots of interesting things showing up on eBay lately. The only thing more surprising than seeing Bowen's Doc Savage bust on the Bay last week was that it didn't get a single bid, but at $999 it was pretty steep. Then there was the guy last week selling not one but two Bowen Shadow busts for one price.
Seems like the economy is making people sell things thay would never consider selling in better times. Unfortunately the buyers all seem to be broke too and it's amazing to see all the listings for previously hot items expiring without bids. Out of 10 MBs I listed last week only one of them sold and they were all listed for way less than I paid for them. Not a good time to be selling I guess, with everyone broke and the holidays fast approching. Things can only get deader until after Christmas.
I believe you are right TF. I am looking to sell off some of my MBs and I'm thinking that I may wait until after the holidays to post them on Ebay. Most MBs are dirt cheap right now.
I'm thinning out some of my larger villian busts to free up some display space, but I'll email you a list after turkey-day, George. Nice avatar, by the way! I doubt I'll ever understand what sells on eBay and why. After getting hardly any bites on my MBs, I listed a dozen books (signed 1st edition sci-fi) from my collection and every one of them has numerous watchers with 5 days to go. After the lack of interest towards my MBs, the interest in these books is really surprising. Good thing too since I have about 300 more to list. So at least some things are interesting potential buyers, but I really think the sheer glut of product in the "figurines" section lately is spreading buyers out too thinly right now. Seems like there's at least a dozen of every MB and FS for sale and the prices are all over the place.
