Damn...sorry to hear about your losses...though you seem to be taking it pretty good, better than I would...that's for certain!? Two BIG pieces just took a hit in the Sabe vs Wolvie dio and Spidey vs Hulk dio (well R.I.P. Spidey...at least you have the Hulk) and it seems as if it didn't make a dent in your collection!?

You have some nice pieces in your collection bro...what's your opinion on the Koto Venom vs the BD Venom? Those are my two favorite Venom's. I don't have the Koto one, but a buddy of mine told me it's highly detailed, but a bit grainy on the paints. For some reason yours looks smooth and shiny!? Did you get it custom painted?

BTW, I have those stainless steel shelves in my garage and while they are sturdy when wheel locked...I'd be nervous with them on there!? Especially with dogs in the house! There's just nothing for the rubber pads underneath each statue to grip on. Oh well...your dogs might be trained and we may be over blowing things.

Great collection and welcome to SM!

Thank you! The Koto Venom is out of the box, it is smooth and shiney. No custom paint. I don't see it often and haven't noticed others. Do you have a picture of what you mean?

If it's in my collection, I like it. I am not one that "has to get them all." There are things I want, but sometimes, i.e. Magneto, want him, but haven't seen a version of him that I like... yet. Occasionally, I'll get a bust of something, if a full size version doesn't exist. At the time I got the Spider-Woman bust (red/yellow original costume) there wasn't a full size. I was going to get the FS stand up, but then the one where she's sitting on a Gargoyle came out. I'm in no rush to get anything though.

No problem with my dogs. One is 12+ and she's only interested in killing anything that moves that isn't family. The other is around 4, he's interested in typical Basset Hound male things like sleeping and eating.

Thanks!

I have more to display, but must get more shelves. I've got a good amount of Aliens, Predators and Terminator items. However, I've got a basement that needs to be finished first. I've got my den to display things in as well.

I'll update this thread as a go.

As far as my loses go, I can do a number of things. If really important, I may try to replace them with what was lost, or maybe something new (better) will come out. I also lost the red variant of the Cthulu (SOTA) statue, but as you can see, I still have the black exclusive. I won't replace the red, nor will I get the original green version. I try not to beat myself up too much about the broken items. I spent 23 years in the USMC, and moved many, many times. Something always was broken, lost, or stolen. What can you do? Plus, I'm still missing some pieces like a Full Size, Mr. Sinister, Ice Man, Magneto... Hellstrom mini bust, the list goes on and on...

Forgive the mess, but an overview. Thinking about removing the fireplace we don't use and putting more shelves up.

wow, what beautiful animals you have there. I lost my 10 year old Rottweiler a couple of months ago. His absence has been surreal, i just never imagined life without him.

Thank you! I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I've lost many companions, each rescued/adopted over the years. My first dog as an adult was Josephine. I went into the deepest depression I ever had for a long time. Please consider contacting a Rottweiler Rescue and adopt another companion. There are so many that could use a good home, with someone who cares and will treat them like the family members they are. I can't imagine life without my companions. At some point, when I'm older, I won't have one because I don't want them to go through the stress when their human dies.

Bought this (resin, metal, PVC) kit from a great buddy of mine. I'll start putting it together as soon a I finish up some other tasks. Initially this will be a WIP (Work In Progress) thread, but eventually my finished replica will be in this thread.

Here are pictures of the kit as it was being produced.

Some screen caps from the movie.

Here it is on my work table (sorry the lighting is not the best here).

I'm going to give it a good coat of Dupli-Color Black Sandable Primer. The section/parts that need to be silver will be painted with Krylon Dull Aluminum.

To simulate a used appearance, I'll first give it the black primer, then after completely dry, I'll spray the dull aluminum on top of that. Wait 24 hours, then lightly spray with the black primer again, then wiping most of that off with a cotton t-shirt dipped in mineral spirits. It'll give it the look I'm going for. I've used this technique on my Phased Plasma Rifle in the 40 watt range before.

I've got the screen accurate sling, and butt sling, the front grip/light is not screen accurate, but as close as possible. JR M9A 9V Tactical Illuminator With LED Grip Light for Airsoft. The Surefire M900 weapon light fore grip costs almost as much as this kit does, so I was not going to get it.

Oh, I want at least two real AA-12s and tons of high explosive shells for it if the Zombie Apocalypse happens.

Edit - That's a special kind of vinyl adhesive with the digital cammo pattern printed on it. I'll be taking my time applying that to the weapon. The pattern is a custom pattern, based on the screen used prop, about 98% accurate, but of a much better quality than used by the studio. (The studio went super cheap on building this thing.)

Just showing that I'm not slacking off, here is where I am in my "cave" (TV, computer, hobby room).

More "work" done. Found the NECA Spidey, got the FS Apocalypse today, found the small Solar Man Of The Atom. My hands have been hurting, so one loss today. I dropped the Creature Of The Night Mummy bust from about 6' onto a tile floor. It was a total smash up. I'm still missing one of my Batmobiles. It's from the ill fated Clooney movie. It's a remote control close to 1:18 scale like my other cars. Added some close-up shots. Found a small Hellgate London PVC statue. I'm at the point of just putting things on the shelves without concern of making any sense. I'll re-arrange things later. I really hope you like the pictures and that I'm not becoming a PITA (Pain In The Ass).

Thank you! You haven't seen anything... yet! "Working" all day on this, took a number of tries to get the shelf spacing correct. Was only able to get a few pieces unpacked. I am hoping all of my Alien, Predator, and Terminator items will fit here.

Today's efforts. I'm tired. I've been doing this since "Christmas In July" (25 July 2012).
