Default Planning: New York Comic Con NYCC Oct 11th to 14th

NYCC

predator31 are starting our New York Comic Con planning, so I thought it'd be cool to see what everyone else is doing, get & give some advice, etc...

What days are you going?:
Where do you think you are staying?:
Best sites for hotel prices, etc...?

First off, predator31 & I are going all 4 days, but I need to leave Friday afternoon to go to Philly to see the RUSH: Clockwork Angels Concert. I will take the train back that night & be back at the con on Saturday. predator31 will remain at the con.

For the past several years, we've stayed in Seacaucus, NJ and take the bus, outside the hotel, to Manhattan each morning. I was really looking forward to staying in Manhattan this time, but hotel prices are ridiculous! I am not spending $400 a night or staying in a dump.

The place we usually stay in Seacaucus, NJ was $159 a night last year, but as of right now, it's $279! I don't know if we should wait to see if prices go down or book elsewhere?

I highly recommend Seacaucus, as long as the bus comes near your hotel. It will save you a ton of money!

I'm planning on going Thur, Fri, or Sat. I live in CT, and honestly, I'll just drive in or ride the train.

The rates for rooms are full on ridiculous.

I and another member of the site are driving down to Syracuse, taking the Amtrak into Manhattan and staying at our usual spot, taxes in about $400/night (thank goodness for splitting it!) We've been to every NYCC except the 2nd one and are very grateful it's not held in the late winter anymore! Is there a get together in NYC this year?

I would love to but way too pricey just to stay there. I could buy a few statues for the price of that trip!

Have you guys looked into apartment rentals as opposed to hotel stays? I did that back in 2010 and not only was it cheaper than a hotel, it was your own (albeit small) apartment, with all the creature comforts!

My Collection Thread!!! http://www.statuemarvels.com/f88/roc...ates-4705.html Regular Updates!!! Please take a look!!

I'd like to get there, but it'll be a matter of family health and finances. We'll see.

All 4 days, VIP pass (Sold out of the cheaper one already), on Long Island so LIRR for this kid
Love the lounge, free coatcheck, package holding, seperate entrance to the floor (so worth it)
Favorate day is Thursday for with a smaller crowd (relative to Fri, Sat and Sun)
But Love Sat as that's when most of the best dressups happen
