It's a huge playground. I've taken my kids to Wizard World and they only lasted the first part of the day. They were all the same age as yours when I brought them along.
Drawing from my experience, those hours spent were meant for them, not me...as I knew I wouldn't be able to take in what I wanted AND keep a watchful eye on them. So the rest of the time I went solo.
However, you never know how kids can surprise you...good luck...!

When you went solo, who looked after the little ones?
I would recommend you put the little one in a baby carrier cuz when it gets crowded you can lose a little one easily. Girls tend to behave a lot better than boys, but you may get the same reaction from when they see something cool they may run over to it and leave you in the dust as you try frustratingly to get through the crowd and get to her.
Bringing the kids can be good and bad...just like smashdaddy said...be prepared to make it all about them as trying to stand in a line to get a con exclusive or autograph isn't likely going to happen. If your wife is going to watch her while you do your stuff...I would make sure that is clear with her before you do it (and don't take advantage of your time either...you don't want to upset the wife. I would also get all your stuff out of the way first because if things go wrong and you have to leave earlier than planned...you're a$$ed out! That's just my routine of doing things.
** Also, if you want to score extra points with the wifey...volunteer to let her eat first while you watch/feed your daughter and do them pamper changes...just a little tip!
Like I said, last year she was great - having less energy she'd fall asleep in the stroller.
This year, she's all over the place. Full of energy and into everything. So the convention could be trying. And at 2 she's not too into things (other than the wiggles and Minnie mouse) but the con will most likely be exciting for her.
Last year she really did engage the stars and we were able to get some shots with her in them where the usually don't allow photos. Like this one with Kevin Sorbo.
Personally, I don't think I would take anyone below tweenager status to a con. They are just way too crowded. I can't imagine it being fun. Am I wrong?

Strollers usually suck at these types of crowded events, but it depends on how crowded it gets at your con. I took my boys and my 1 1/2 yr old in a stroller to Wondercon this year in Anaheim, CA. It wasn't too crowded and I got lucky it wasn't SDCC or anything (where it's impossible to push a stroller around), but I did hear some teenage chick mumble, "I hate strollers" as I split in between her and her boyfriend. I just ignored it not to cause an unwanted scene against some teeny boppers.
Sometimes though...you single folks just don't understand what we go through. We want to be able to keep our passions up and sometimes we have to bring the kids...it's just hard.
Good luck screwball! She's in her terrible two stage...so hope it goes well!

I've been taking my daughter since she was 1 and a stroller goes a long way. Try to avoid the busiest days if you can. This year I took her on preview night and it was a lot of fun. I went back on Saturday for my buys and didn't have to bore her while dad looked through prints and statues.
I dont have kids but I plan on taking my nieces and nephew to a convention in two months. That said, this would be a good tip on what to watch for. Thanks guys!
I don't yet have kids of my own, but have been assured, by a big family that watching them for weeks at a time won't be a problem. If this holds true, my rule will be no kids at events like these until they are at least 5 and create some memories of their own. There are a few exceptions to this rule however. For example, if I want a picture of Stan Lee and my baby, then he/she will have to come, because I think the clock is running on our old man Stan.
I brought my son to a couple of shows he was 4 and 5 respectfully though I watched him like a hawk I was able to get what I needed and he had a ball. The best part for me was watching him beat all comers in the video games that they had going not sure which game it was but it looked similar to Call of Duty he actully won a Darth Maul premium figure at one of the shows competeing in the video games. AHHH the good ole days he's 19 now
Yes. My friend's son has had great interaction with the Power Rangers the last two years. LAst year he was asked on stage and couldn't talk. This year he wore the costume of a missing ranger, so he was asked to fill in and take pictures as that ranger.

It all depends on the parent and child.
I agree. It's situational. Some kids are a major pain.
I took my stepdaughter and her friend to a WW a few years ago. They knew the rules and followed them extremely well. I never had to run off looking for them, or correct them in any way. I think they were about 8, or 9 at the time.
