INFO: Las Vegas Comic Expo Moved to the Rivera Hotel
UPDATE:
Just saw the following announcement on Las Vegas Comic Expo Facebook page; a little surprised that I should see it there and not (as a ticket holder) have an email directly from the organisers - made me wary if it could be some sort of Facebook-hacker-hoax:
THE VENUE FOR LAS VEGAS COMIC EXPO HAS CHANGED!!!! SAME BAT TIME, SAME BAT DATES...
Attendees, Artists, Guests, Vendors, Sponsors:
The Las Vegas Comic Expo will be relocating to a new venue, the Riviera Hotel & Casino, directly located on the Las Vegas Strip.
Due to the flash floods from a recent rain storm, the original hotel and halls located at the Alexis Park Resort were irreparably damaged to host LVCE. Drywall, carpet, and a lack of power proved too much to overcome in such a short window, thus making the shift to the "Riv" necessary. All tickets and prize vouchers issued will be honored at the new venue.
The Riv is an upgrade for attendees, vendors, featured guests, and LVCE. With an AWESOMELY larger floor space, exhibitor booths and the Artist Alley will be in one large room. The new venue will be able to showcase the impressive guest list, while benefiting everyone. Panels and programs will also be improved with these areas conveniently located down the hall from the main room. Since the Riv hosts a food court, restaurants, casino (**save your money for the vendors, artists, exclusives, and charity auction!**), and is a few blocks to the monorail system, this should make attending LVCE more enjoyable.
As for the artists' tables and vendor booths...we did everything possible to maintain the same configuration and keep the same number assignments.
But, it just looked silly on the blue prints.
The convention hall is HUGE. No longer will attendees be traveling between two different rooms to see all the vendors and artists. So we hope that you guys can forgive us and be patient as we reconfigure the layout and make new table and booth assignments.
**We SINCERELY APOLOGIZE for the artists and vendors who've been making announcements about where to find them. We'll get you new assignments ASAP and do everything we can to assist and change any ads that need to be updated for our Program Book. We hope the upgrade in convention space and more fluid attendee traffic will make up for this inconvenience.**
LVCE still takes place on September 29th and 30th...now, just at the Riviera Hotel & Casino, located at 2901 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (on the Strip, baby!) across from Circus Circus which hosts the indoor theme park, Adventuredome, and the Chuck Jones Experience which will allow more entertainment for the little ones.
It's just a quick cab or shuttle ride from McCarran International Airport (LAS) and only minutes away from downtown Las Vegas, the Arts District, and the Fremont Street Experience .
For more information about the Las Vegas Comic Expo, please visit our official site at Las Vegas Comic Expo. You can also follow us on Twitter @LVComicExpo and “LIKE” us on Facebook at http://facebook.com/lasvegascomicexpo for any new updates.
Thank you for your support and we hope to make this a GREAT experience for you. Please help spread the word of the venue change - The Riviera Hotel and Casino.
YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK!!!

I am amazed that to this day, there has not been one comic convention in Las Vegas.
I remember one convention hitting Vegas when I was but a wee lad, but I think it is a shame that there is not an annual convention here.
I do know there were rumblings of moving "COMICCON" from San Diego to Las Vegas which in my opinion would only hurt San Diego and "COMICCON" I would hope that it would be possible to have our own ComicCon.
Who do I have to talk to to get the ball rolling on a VegasCon?
It would be nice for Vegas to get a con...just not SDCC! I think a VegasCon should be the "love child" from the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) and Porn Convention (AEE - Adult Entertainment Expo). The geeks from CES and Porn stars from AEE can combine into a VegasCon!

Oh, everything I love all in one convention, comics, statues, tech stuff and scantily clad and/or naked women. A guy can dream.
Vegas Con would be cool. Id go to that...It be a trip that makes money. Black jack then Vegas Con. ( I suck , Im full of Crap, Id lose so much money) It would be an awesome time.
They used to have toy and collectibles shows in Vegas at the old Sands and Ballys. I would fly down for a few hours, buy a bunch of old toys and fly back that afternoon. This was a couple years pre-ebay.

That's true!!! Lots of hot chicks were there...just look at last years pictures!!!
I have heard the same thing about Arizona, hell my ex wife lives there now and she was pretty hot accompanied by the fact that she was a soul sucking succubus of hell.
I just want a Comic Con that I don't have to travel across the country and take weeks off from work for.
Comics, statues, and strippers, is that too much to ask!!!...IS IT!!!?
There are some great names lined up as guests (Mike Mignola, Yay!) and there is going to be an Artist Alley. I'm sure the cosplay hotties won't be far behind.
