(Mods, I hope this is an okay forum to post this, since it's meant for customizers)
Short story: I'll give somebody a Thanos bust to customize, if they promise to do something awesome with it.
Long version: Over a decade ago, I wanted to propose to my girlfriend. Believe it or not, Bowen Designs factored into my proposal (I needed to control when she got back to the apartment, so I had her swing by a local comic store to pick up the original Thanos bust that I'd already purchased over the phone).
She said yes. We married. The marriage went well. Then it didn't go so well. Then it got horrible. Now, I'm divorced, but I still have the Thanos bust. And I want it out of here... it reminds me of nothing but pain. I've thought about taking it out to the farm to shoot it to pieces, but I never could bring myself to. Likewise, I can't just throw it away.
So, I had the thought: instead of getting rid of it by destructive means, why not get rid of it by doing something constructive?
1) If one of you customizers wants it, send me a private message.
2) I'll pick one of you, and I'll send it to that person free of charge.
3) You do something awesome with it and post the pictures here when finished. Make a full size Thanos. Make a Darkseid. Do something else... I don't care, but just make it a positive thing again. Whatever you create is yours to keep or dispose of as you wish.
Anybody interested? I'll leave this thread running for a week or so for takers.
Yes, Peeps was cool enough to send it to me. I think I'm going to make him into the Collector but the Annihilation Thanos is another option. Either way, it was a very cool gesture on his part and I've got an idea as to how to pay it forward once he's done.
