I've been saying this since the Morrison/Quitely X-Men changed the comic book look to the movie look. After that, so many costumes went from cool looking super hero costumes to "let's make them look like a soldier" looks.

uugghh, I hated that 2 or so years of the "leather X-Men" I was extatic when Whedon and Cassaday did their re-boot in 03' Cassaday's designs were Perfect, a traditional super hero look with a slight practicality, Cyclop's re-design by Cassaday was pure genius. I also thought, "man, this is what they should've used in the X-Men movie!"

Why does Havok look like he's 15 years old?
